Someone asked me yesterday if you can post an invite on Facebook and Twitter for people to join a leader’s group. We’ll eventuall add the icons on the group info page as a shortcut to the steps below, but if you want to before then, here’s what I did:

Underneath the table of members on a group’s info page, there is an option to “Email invitation to: Join Group”. That is essentially an e-vite that you can enter addresses in to email friends to join your group.

To create a Facebook link just copy the link from the link in the email above and post it as a link on Facebook.

For Twitter, go to http://bit.ly/ to shorten the same link to fit within 140 characters.

Works like a charm. Go to my Facebook or Twitter and join my EGR group if you want.
