Event Registration

Here’s how to create a link that will allow someone to join an event (group) of any type from your church’s website. You can view this event just as you would any other group.

First of all create the event (group) just like you would any other group in Groupfinder (Create a New Group from Main Menu). The profile responses might be awkward, but that will not effect anything.

Secondly, work with your web person to put your event info on your church’s website. Have them create a button or link of some type to sign up for the event. Then create a link from Churchteams for them to use. Click here to see what this link will look like. This is for a bogus event within our sample church, but it will give you the idea.

To create this link, log in to your account as the administrator. Go to customization features, then church website integration. On that page find Example Link#1. Underneath it is code for a link that we are going to borrow from. In that code is “oID=” and a number and “sID=” followed by your member level password. Replace the number 1234 in the link below with this (your) OID number. Then replace the password “member” in the new link with your password. Note: to do this copy this link to an email or document from which you can work on it.
http://www.churchteams.com/login.asp?oID=1234&sID=member&page=MemberSelectJoin.asp?GroupID=567890

To further limit the access someone can have to the tool, make the same adjustments to this link:
http://www.churchteams.com/Login.asp?oID=1234&sID=member&limit=Y&page=MemberSelectJoin.asp?GroupID=37554&JoinGroupBypassSearchOption=specificgroup

Finally, go to browse groups on your main menu and find the event group you want people to be able to join. Click on that group and bring up the Group Info page with details. Look in the URL and you will see the GroupID number for that particular group. Replace the GroupID “567890″ with the number for your event group.

Once you have replaced those 3 elements in this new link, you have created your own unique link from which people can sign up for an event of any type.

Hope this helps! If not, let us know.
