A couple of weeks ago I talked about how Churchteams is like the High Five. But there really are 5 parts to it as well. These 5 parts help define a win for small groups and really church. It starts with a search to belong. I loved Joe Myers’ book by that title. If you haven’t read it, check out A Search To Belong. What does belonging look like? How do you know you’ve scored on this one? Here are a couple of indicators I’ve thought about the last year or two.

2 a.m. friends. When someone speed dials a friend at 2 a.m. to come watch the kids while they run to the hospital with another one of the kids – they belong. Thanks Jeff and Kristy for this illustration. Highlight these stories in your ministry.

80% or better group consistency. Healthy groups trust each other. Trust by definition is a function of consistency. Consistency of character and faithful to each other. Using Churchteams you can measure consistency and we even highlight it for you. Recognize those groups with 80% consistency or better. They belong to each other. Thanks Damon for pushing my thinking on this one.

I’m not talking about belonging to the church. That is #5. I’m talking about people belonging to each other and becoming a small platoon of people doing life together, growing, loving and serving each other.

That’s a win!
