Ephesians focuses on the believer's responsibility to walk in accordance with his heavenly calling to Christ Jesus (4:1). Ephesians was written to encourage the body of Christ to mature in Him. Also, to make believers more aware of their position in Christ as this is the basis of their practices in every level of life. Paul wrote this epistle to make Christians more aware of their position in Christ and to motivate them to draw upon their spiritual source in daily living so Ephesians begins in heaven but concludes at home and in all relationships of daily life. The two divisions are the position of the Christian (1:1-3:21) and the practice of the Christian (4:1-6:20) Over our time together as a "small group" we will focus on the unity, growth and maturity that comes from salvation attained not by human works but by divine grace (2:1-10)-- ***** We keep a balance between the men and women in the group. *****

We will be reading this The Gospel of Mark this semester. This study will re-examine the gospel through a tragic perspective highlighting themes of mystery, suffering, pain, compassion, and hope that Mark goes out of his way to display. It's the implicit goal of this group to cultivate the social Christian virtues of compassion, justice, generosity, and charity tangibly in our daily lives.

These particular groups are uniquely designed for men and women(mid 20's to early 30's) in the transitional season of life between post-college and starting a family. In addition to meeting weekly with each other, there will be once a month gatherings designed to build community with all other transitional mens, womens and mixed groups. Weekly, this particular group will be discovering what exactly a man of god is. What does he act like, what does he look like and what the heck does he eat? Where do you find him, who does he hang around and most importantly how do you join the club? We will attempt to frame this lifelong pursuit in 12 short weeks. Even though we will just scratch the surface, hopefully we will understand what this means, a direction to take to get there and develop bonds with other men sharing the same desire as you. We will be using the study Fresh Encounter by Henry and Richard Blackaby.
